Spanish rules & compliance
Mandatory Regulations and Legislation
At the Club RC de l’Ebre, safety is not just a rule; it is our absolute priority. Flying is a passion, but doing so responsibly is what allows us to continue enjoying the skies of the Terres de l’Ebre day after day.
Commitment to Aviation Safety
Our club operates in strict compliance with current regulations established by the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) and the European regulations of EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency). We are proud to state that our facilities and procedures meet all legal requirements for the practice of aeromodeling, guaranteeing a safe environment for both members and third parties.
AIP Registration: Emergency Field
As a sign of our integration into the aeronautical infrastructure, the Club RC de l’Ebre flying field is duly registered in the AIP (Aeronautical Information Publication) of ENAIRE.
Safety Note: Our runways are designated as an emergency field for aircraft. This means that, in addition to our recreational activities, we fulfill a vital logistical function for general and sporting aviation in case of technical or meteorological necessity.
Which regulations must we follow?
To ensure the club runs like a Swiss watch (but with the warmth of the Ebro), all members and external participants must know and apply current legislation—specifically Royal Decree 517/2024 and EU Implementing Regulation 2019/947.
Here are the fundamental pillars you must fulfill to take off with us:
1. UAS Operator Registration
It is mandatory for every pilot to be registered as an operator with AESA. This registration is free and generates an operator number that must be fireproofed or visibly fixed on all your model aircraft.
2. Civil Liability Insurance
Safety is also financial. Even when operating in a controlled environment, it is mandatory to have a valid civil liability insurance policy that covers potential damage to third parties. Most of our members manage this through their federative license or specific policies for drones/aeromodels.
3. Training and Certification
Depending on your aircraft category (usually Open Category A1/A3 or under the Club's specific authorization), you must hold the corresponding remote pilot training certificate. If you are new, don't worry! The club veterans will guide you through the process.
4. Field Flight Rules
Maximum Altitude: The flight limit is 120 meters (400 ft) above ground level, except for specific authorizations.
Line of Sight (VLOS): The pilot must maintain direct visual contact with the model aircraft at all times, without the aid of optical devices (except corrective lenses).
Right of Way: If a manned aircraft (emergency helicopters, light planes, etc.) approaches the area, model aircraft must land immediately or descend to a safety altitude to clear the way.
Exclusion Zones: Flying over non-participating persons or public/parking areas is strictly prohibited.
Your responsibility belongs to everyone
Remember that failure to comply with these rules not only risks the safety of the airspace but also the continuity of our club. Flying at Club RC de l’Ebre implies full acceptance of these regulations.
